The SMES Robotics Club held a family showcase this afternoon. Students showed off their new robot programming expertise. Thanks, Mrs. Ginny for sponsoring the Robotics Club!
Students in 4th grade were reading about animal adaptations. To help better understand, students conducted an experiment to show various adaptations of bird beaks.

Every day deserves to be "Custodian Appreciation Day" for these two. There aren't enough words to express our gratitude to Mr. Robert and Mrs. Traci for their tireless hard work and love for South Marshall. Thank you for everything you do!!
September attendance looks good, but our goal for October is to finish over 97%. We understand that illness happens, but otherwise, we need everyone at school every day. I tell the students every day, "Have a good day, have fun, but remember 'Learning is Required.'" We miss out on that learning when we miss school. We were busy growing our brains and taking flight today. Take a walk around and you'll find students learning letter sounds with magnetic letters, 4th graders working on area in math with manipulative, early readers in kindergarten learning to read, and great collaborative conversations in a 5th grade math class. #SMESTakesFlight #SouthsideIsTheBestSide
